Price: $7.99

Directions: Rub into scalp daily & comb hair into any style desired. For adults & children.

Texture: It feels like a really heavy butter, Not grainy though.

Scent: This product smells like Raw African Shea butter

I have used this on hair and scalp. I did not want to try it on my scalp because of the waxes blocking my pores, but I did it anyway and it stunted my growth. I saw the difference in growth because I did not use it on my first set of kinky twists, but did with the second set. I think that this is way too heavy for the scalp, but just perfect for thick, kinky, Afro textured hair. This Jamaican Black Castor oil hair food is very heavy, so if you do not have thick kinky Afro textured hair, I would suggest that you not use this on your hair.

When applied directly to the hair, it instantly softens up and makes the hair moisturized and more manageable for styling. I use it on my daughter’s hair when she likes to wear her puff because the Shea butter and the Castor oil help to protect against the sun, wind and harsh weather. I love this product for softening dry hair to prepare for styling, it does the job. The moisture lasts for at least 2 days.

Final thoughts.

I would have to give this product a 4 out of 5 stars only because it says to use on your scalp and it did not work for me, other than that it really moisturizes and softens the hair. Especially the ends. As far as the price, I think that it is reasonable for the size. I do not use it everyday, so it lasts a while.

If you are experiencing breakage or thinning hair, I would definitely recommend this product to you, but it is very heavy.

Price: $4.74 at Target

Ingredients:

water, stearyl alcohol, cyclopentasiloxane, cetyl alcohol, stearamidopropyl dimethylamine, dimethicone, vanilla planifolia fruit extract, cocos nucifera (coconut) milk, fragrance, glutamic acid, benzyl alcohol, edta, methylchloroisothiazolinone, methylisothiazolinone, blue 1

I know that I said before that I run when I see all of the alcohols and ingredients that I cannot read, but I just had to try this one. It is funny, for me, anything that works for other type 4c kinky‘s do not work for me, but what does not work for them, works for me that is why we have to find what works for us and keep using it.

What does it look like and how does it smell?

First of all, this conditioner felt smooth and it was not really creamy but more of a thick consistency. It smelled great inside the bottle and in my kinky hair. The conditioner was blue in color just like the bottle, so that kind of worried me because normally when you add something else in, it weakens something else.

My experience.

I co-washed with this several times.I left it on for about 5minutes prior to detangling. It provided great slip for detangling and I noticed that my curls started to form while I was applying it onto my kinky textured hair in the shower. After detangling, I covered my hair with a plastic shower cap for another 15 minutes. After I rinsed, I did not apply any other type of conditioner for the conditioning process so I moved right onto my pampering session.

Moisture.

What I noticed was that after my hair dried, it was hard and crunchy. It also felt like my kinky strands were seriously coated with something and I did not like it at all. No moisture just crunch.

Price:

The price is the bomb, but I knew at that price what I could be expecting.

Final thoughts:

I will leave this product for other naturals to use. I actually gave mine to my friend that loves it. So you will not hear or see me using this product. Hope it works for others. For an alternate review, please click here

My opinion:

OMG, I have been looking for something to  hold my hair in a style without the hard feeling, or an oily or greasy feeling, and will last all day. This is it, I am sooooo in love with this new Curling Souffle. I had less shrinkage than normal and I did not have to use a lot of it. This product right here is the bomb! I love it, it worked perfect for my kinky hair type. So I pre-pooed for an hour with my oils, Raw African Shea butter, Jamaican Black Castor oil, Coconut oil and extra virgin Olive oil.

Then I jumped in the shower, washed and conditioned. I used my home made conditioner.

I have noticed that when I use the Avocado in my hair, it really helps to bring out my natural curls. I conditioned for only 30 minutes and then applied the Shea Moisture Restorative conditioner and let it sit for 5 minutes, detangled and two strand twisted then rinsed. I always say this, but I love the Shea Moisture line, so it was great that I was already using all of the same line which really shows how this Curling Souffle worked in my hair.

Freshly washed hair.

Then I finger parted from ear to ear, to prepare for the pampering session and clipped the top into two sections. I finger parted the back into four and began to apply the She Moisture Restorative conditioner as my leave in. Now the directions say to apply directly after conditioning and that it actually seals in the moisture, so I skipped my sealing part of the session and went right into styling. I finger parted the back and applied just a little Curling Souffle onto one section and then combed with the wide tooth comb and twisted all the way down to the ends. I did this all over, which resulted in 30 twists.

I then put on a hair net to protect from frizz and covered with my satin bonnet and went to sleep.

When I woke up this morning, I noticed that my hair was not completely dry and that is because I did not finish this until 11:30 pm last night and had to get up at 6:15am for our morning routine, so I had to use the blow dryer on the lowest setting to dry the twists. But here is a preview before I blow driedOMG I was so excited when I saw how shiny it was and the curl definition. So here are the results after. I cannot wait to use this product for a wash n go and other styles.

I received so many compliments today on my hair and this is the best twist out that I have ever achieved with my hair type 4 kinky. So I have to give this product a

5 out of 5

Final thoughts:

I have no complaints about it. And my hair does not feel hard or oily, just moisturized  with a little hold as if it was still wet but it is not. I love the Shea Moisture Curling Souffle and hope that you do too. If you have purchased this product, please leave a comment on your thoughts. Have a great day!
